BlueAnt appoints Hogan CEO
BlueAnt Wireless, a Bluetooth device specialist that has its corporate headquarters in Melbourne and a US HQ in Santa Clara, has appointed David Hogan CEO. He will be based at BlueAnt's newly opened office in Chicago.
A 20-year industry veteran, Hogan was previously senior vice president of global sales and marketing for GN Netcom's Jabra brand. He has also been executive vice president of USA Wireless Solutions.
Gauci joins troubled NRL club
Ron Gauci has leapt out of the ICT sector to take the CEO's job at the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club, which is teetering on the brink of extinction after allegedly serious salary cap breaches. Gauci was, until recently, managing director and Australia and NZ vice president of Verizon Business. He has also worked for IBM GBS, Siebel Systems, Telstra, AAP Communications, AusMosys, Ferntree Computer Systems, and Microsoft.
Jim Christie takes GM job at Praxa
Industry veteran Jim Christie has been appointed general manager of Praxa, the services arm of CDC Global Services in Australia. He will be based in Sydney.
Christie has previously worked for Kronos, Exinda Networks, Aprisma, Delano Technology, QAD, JBA International, Sanyo, and MAI Basic Four.
Vellnagel heads new TechOne office
TechnologyOne has created a new project office and recruited former Mincom program director Andrew Vellnagel as its head.
The new office will work closely with a recently formed vertical market solutions team headed by Martin Harwood, formerly CEO of Tower Software (Rust Report, Nov 20 2009, p8).
* Stephan Wagner has joined Ciena Corporation as account director for the northern region. A former Telstra employee, Wagner was most recently owner of a Telstra shop, Connect 2 You, in Bowral, NSW.
* Social computing consultancy Headshift Australia has appointed Kate Carruthers senior social business consultant. She was previously with digital services company Hyro.
